Poem: Confession of Love

I've watched you blossom, as I stood as your friend,
I've seen you through hard times, again and again,
I've stood back from you and withheld my love,
I've cried for you, when you were in heaven above,
I've waited so long, to confess how I feel,
For so many years; my love has been real,
And now my darling, it's time for me to say,
To speak of my love and the heart you stole away,
Face to face with you now, as I pour out all emotion,
No don't say a word; don't even give me a notion,
I give you my soul, with no strings attached,
Don't fret my dear, if your feelings aren't matched,
For I will love you throughout all of my life,
No matter what happens, no matter the strife,
But as for now, to you just a friend I will be,
And hope that someday, you might be able to love me.
