Site Mission:
To archive Joxer fics of all varieties, and house the largest collection of pro-Joxer fanfics on the internet. No idea if we're even close, but it's fun trying. :D

Site History:
The JFFG as a group began in 1998, when "Napalm Nacey" aka Nancy Lorenz started the email group for her fellow Xenafic authors. There was a severe shortage of pro-Joxer areas on the net, and the group of us wanted to encourage Joxer-lovin' authors to write more! Within a few months, yours truly took up the challenge of attempting to archive all the fics that had been sent out. This turned into a full-time job, since new fics were coming out all the time.

The original JFFG archives were hosted on Geocities, from January 1999 until about a year later. The site went sort of dead when Geocities merged with Yahoo and changed their TOS policy to state that all material archived on a Yahoo site was technically the property of Yahoo. Updating was put on hold as a way of putting off agreeing to these TOS changes, while the heads in charged looked for another place to house the collected works. The server decided on was FortuneCity, where the site got a facelift and settled in starting in summer 2000 and stayed for a good four years. FortuneCity gave the added bonus of a free domain name, and so for a little while, the JFFG was to be found at jffg.org! Unfortunately, FortuneCity changed their rules around a little after a few years, and the domain name was lost. Updates were pretty regular for a couple of years, until your faithful webmaster kinda started having a life, getting married, going into the real world, and so on. :P Yeah, I didn't really like it either (well, the getting married part was good *G*), but as a result the JFFG lay dormant for about two years even though authors continued to post.

Finally, however, we've got our own server! Our own domain name! And a redesign and total overhaul of organization! Updates may not be regular, but hey, it's pretty, right? *G*

Site specs:
I designed this whole bloody thing with a monitor res. of 600x480, which means that everything looks HUGE. I did try to test it out on proper monitors, but if something looks wiggy, that would be why. Hopefully, however, it looks decent on all monitor resolutions from 800x600 up; there is just NO WAY to design something to fit a 600x480 and have it look good on a res. twice that size. :P Anyway, all designing was done on a Mac, primarily on Photoshop. I don't use HTML author programs, because they throw me off, so all coding was hand-typed. Yes, I'm still using HTML - I haven't had the opportunity to learn CSS or its ilk, yet. (Damn real life. *pout*) The main font used in the title graphics was Dance Craze BV. Any glitches, bugs, or general crappiness can only be pinned on me, since I did it all in my spare time. (Hopefully the general crappiness is minimal. ^_~)

Other sites owned:
  • The Zebeckras Zone, my personal playground and the jumping-off points to my other sites. Started in 1996 and FINALLY has a new main page, though really it's awaiting a huge overhaul. link
  • St. Canard at Sunset, my Darkwing Duck fanpage. Profiles of characters, fanfics, fanart, and an eventual episode gallery as well as (at some point in the distant future) episode reviews and fun stuff. Kind of on hold as the past year has been mainly devoted to the JFFG, but my most popular site. link
  • Xebbie's Xena Xone, my personal "Xena" fanpage. Mostly an oversized holder for my fanfics, but also has keen stuff that the general populace has ignored, like "New Subtext" and TLFENH. Actually my most complete page to date, though not updated recently. link
  • Just Another Ranma 1/2 Page, devoted to the first anime I really got into, "Ranma 1/2". Redesigned and revamped for the new millenium; VERY new and just in starting phases but interesting and cute. link
  • Because You Demanded It, an entirely neglected fansite to Marvel Comic's (original) "Excalibur" series. To be redesigned and overhauled ASAP. link
  • Snarky Kitty, the main page for this site, shared with the ever-brilliant (and so doggoned cute!) Kawcrow. Um... we're not sure yet what we're doing with most of it. link
  • Soon-to-be-created/revamped/overhauled: "El Hazard", "Fullmetal Alchemist", "Fruits Basket" and other anime lurves.

    Thank-yous to:
    - The JFFG mailing list, for never ever being pushy about the whole updating thing and actually - unlike some fandoms - understanding that this is my hobby instead of my job. That actually makes me want to do it more. :)
    - Joxer authors EVERYWHERE. Write MORE, dangit! Pleeeease!
    - Kawcrow, because.
    - My husband, for letting me use the computer *G* And... even more because.
    - The GJRS, for starting it all; Nace, for starting the group and giving me the reins; Findle, for keeping the flame going; all y'all for being the friends you are. ^_^
