Yeah! by Paul Brandt © 1997

My heart's been beatin' faster
Does it mean that I'm in love?
I just can't get enough of your smile
I'm flying higher now
Oh baby can't you see
What you mean to me?

Do I want ya
Do I love ya
Do I think the whole world of ya
Do I know that I'm a lucky man
Do I go to hold ya
Need to squeeze ya
Feel my head reel when I see ya
Wonder does this mean I got it bad?
Yeah!

You turn to walk my way
And it sends shivers down my spine
Happens every time
Like a waterfall feeps flowing
I'm over the top
Babe I just can't stop!

Do I want ya
Do I love ya
Do I think the whole world of ya
Do I know that I'm a lucky man?
Do I go to hold ya
Need to squeeze ya
Feel my head reel when I see ya
Wonder does this mean I got it bad?
Yeah!

Joxer sat on the cold hard ground in front of the fire. It was cool out but he didn't feel the chill. He was sitting next to Gabrielle and that thought alone kept him warm. He thought back to the events of the day and smiled.

He was feeling lonely again and wanted to see Gabrielle. Somehow just seeing her was enough to chase his loneliness away. He started singing his song and was surprised to hear Xena join in. He didn't love Xena as he did Gabrielle, but was still thrilled that she joined in the song. Gabrielle didn't say anything so he guessed that maybe she was enjoying herself as well. At least she didn't hit him or pull his nose or bite his ear today.

He glanced at Gabrielle sitting on the log that was next to him. He noticed that she was shivering and was going to get her the cloak that he bought her, but something made him stop. She was actually smiling at him... and even invited him to sit on the log with her! Oh gods! His heart stopped for just a moment and then started racing.

He slowly got up and sat on the very end of the log, fearful that she might send him away. He glanced at Xena and questioned her with his eyes... should I?

Xena quickly smiled and nodded a quick yes.

He took his helmet off and started to fiddle with it. His hands were sweating and he wiped them off on his pants. He glanced again at Gabrielle and she was motioning him to come closer! He gulped and slid about another inch closer to her on the log. He waited for her to get angry at him again, but she said nothing.

He saw her shivering again and got up to get the cloak he had bought her. It was in his pack and he got it out and walked around to where she was sitting. Gently, fearfully, he put it around her shoulders and sat down.

Glancing at her again, he felt his heart soar! Her eyes were moist and she was smiling at him again, this time it lit up her whole face. He heard her say thank-you and mumbled back a reply. He had saved for many months to get that cloak and owed a lot of people a lot of money, but seeing her smile made it worth it!

He glanced at her again and noticed that she had a faraway look on her face and wondered what she was thinking of. A tear slid down her cheek and glistened like a jewel in the firelight. He reached down to get her a cloth from her pack and stopped when he realized that she was doing the same thing. His heart stopped again and he held his breath waiting for her to yell at him or hit him or something.

He looked into her face and saw that she was smiling and her lips were slightly parted. He could feel her breath on his face and breathed it in, savoring it. He closed his eyes to treasure this moment and felt her lips brush his. Something inside him exploded and he gave in totally to the kiss. He felt as if he were flying... higher than Mount Olympus! He didn't want to stop!

When they parted, he could hardly believe his ears! Gabrielle had said she was his! Forever!

The only thing he could think of to say at the moment was, "Yeah!"

The End
