Poem: The Wedding Poem

I've heard it said, once or twice, that every man is slime,
They've no respect for anything, not even their own kind.
They kill, destroy and hurt and maim the things they cannot have,
Any they try to hurt their women in anyway they can.
Somethings that I have gone through could suggest that this
is right,
But then I think sometimes, I think maybe there just might,
Be a man out there somewhere with a sense of wrong and right.
If his woman was in danger, he would surely stand and fight.
I know there is no man that is a knight in shining armour,
But somewhere there must be a man of dignity and power.
One who's gentle, one who's kind. One who does not wear a mask.
Someone who is sensitive, is that too much to ask?
"Don't put your trust in men!" is all I've ever
heard girls say.
But I found that hard to do, especially today.
With you, my love, I've dropped my shields and lowered all my guards.
For now you are my husband and I give to you my heart.
