Joxer was walking along, humming his song and looked up to see Xena and the light of his life, Gabrielle ahead of him on the road. He ran to catch up.

Joxer: Gabby, Xena! Wait up!

Gabby looked over her shoulder and cringed when she saw who was coming. Xena noticed her friend's reaction and elbowed her.

Gabrielle: Xena.... Can't we ditch him?
Xena: Be nice! He isn't so bad!
Gabrielle whispered to her friend, "He's so.... Oh hi Joxer."
Joxer: Hi Xena! Gabrielle... you look nice today!
Gabrielle: Thanks.

Gabrielle smiles politely and rolled her eyes when he wasn't looking.

Xena: Hello Joxer!
Xena: We're just heading to the next town, wanna join us?
Joxer: Sure! I'd love to!

Gabrielle sighs a bit too loudly

Joxer: Something wrong Gabby?
Gabrielle: No... (Glances at Xena) Nothing. *Sigh*
Aphrodite: (Appears in a flash of light and glitter)

Aphrodite: He has this whole thing going right now, it's like totally Gonna mess up my gig! I'm so majorly bummed!
Ares: (Appears in a flash of blue light.) Someone mentioned me? Oh! Hiya Dite!
Aphrodite: Ares!!! Go away!
Ares: Hey! Be nice! Xena: Ares! What are you doing here? What do you want now?
Aphrodite: He's starting a war right in the middle of three of my temples!
Ares: *SIGHS* I am the God of War! What did you expect me to do? It's getting boring around here. I want some excitement!
Aphrodite: Xena...Please? You've gotta help me! (Looks at Ares and pouts.) So start a war somewhere else then!!
Ares: No way Babe!
Aphrodite: Xena! See what I mean?

Xena: This is between the gods anyway.
Ares: Hey! This is prime territory. These three kingdoms are dying for a war!

Joxer looks nervously at the two gods and approaches Dite.

Joxer: Uh...Dite?
Aphrodite: Yes studmuffin?
Joxer: Um... Can I ask you something?
Aphrodite: (small sigh)
Joxer: uh... alone... please?
Aphrodite: I suppose.... Hurry up though...I got a major gig in Athens...
Xena: Aphrodite... he's my friend. Remember that if you want me to help with your little problem...
Aphrodite: Ok, ok.... Jeez! I'm goin' already

Aphrodite walks away with Joxer.

Xena turns to Ares.

Xena: As for you! I've had enough of your little games! Stop this before I tell Athena that I beat you again!

Gabrielle laughs.

Gabrielle: She has me too you know Ares!
Ares: Xena ... you can't be three places at once! You'll never stop this and you know it! More threats.

Ares approaches Xena and caresses her face.

Ares: You're crazy about me and it shows!

Gabrielle grunts in disgust.

Xena: You're crazy if you think that I'm going to let you get away with this!
Ares: All right Have it your way then!

Ares disappears in a flash of light.

Autolycus appears, running toward Xena.

Autolycus:(Out of breath) Hey Xena!!
Xena: Autolycus!
Gabrielle: Good he's gone!
Autolycus: I got some news!

Autolycus hangs his head to get air, breathing hard.

Autolycus: I just came from Parnassis, and there is going to be a huge war between the three major cities around them, they're gonna be crushed! Xena you have to stop it! .... I know someone there...and she's...

Autolycus smiles a bit at Xena's look, then lowers his eyes.

Autolycus: She means alot to me, ok.

Autolycus finished, biting his lip as he looks back up at Xena.

Xena: It's okay. Ares is behind it. Don't worry! I'll stop it!

Meanwhile, Dite stand with her hands on her hips as Joxer tries to find the right words

Joxer: well... I was kinda ... um... you...know... I left some things for you?
Aphrodite: Hurry up, sweetcheeks! Get to the point!
Joxer: Well, I was just.... Um... sort of wondering if you liked them? I mean... I know they aren't great or anything.
Aphrodite: I know I know.... I've seen them. They were...ok.
Joxer: Good... I mean...
Aphrodite: (Her voice softened.) Look, just tell me what you want.... Ok? (She says in a softer voice)
Joxer: um... is there a chance you can sort of help me with... um...
Aphrodite: Ms. Blondie?
Joxer: Yeah.
Aphrodite: (Giggles)
Joxer: No spells or nothing. I just want her to like me instead of treating me like a doorstop.

Joxer: I was wondering if you could maybe help me? I'm not too sure what you can do.
Aphrodite: (Touches his face.) You should really find someone else you know... what about Meg?
Joxer: I don't want anyone else! I can't live my life without Gabrielle! She's my life! She's my sun in the morning and the moon at night and she's the soft, cooling breeze on a hot summer day. She's my everything!

Aphrodite starts to whisper.

Back with Auto, Gabrielle and Xena...

Xena: First we have to get to Parnassis. I know the king there.
Autolycus: OK. I know him too.
Xena: Yeah? How do you know him?
Autolycus: Well I met this...(sigh) amazing woman her name was Cupcake.

Autolycus smiles a bit.

Xena is a bit annoyed at this.

Xena: Sounds like one of Megs wench's...
Autolycus: No! Nothing like that! She was sweet and innocent.
Xena: Okay... whatever you say. *Sigh*
Autolycus: Well...not for someone like me. To make a long story short, Xena, I kinda got her hitched to the prince.

Xena's eyes widened in surprise!

Xena: (Softly) Ok.

Xena: I wonder what's taking Joxer so long...
Gabrielle: Yeah...he should have been back here before now... wonder what he's talking to Aphrodite about anyway.

Joxer: Yep!

Joxer approached Gabrielle.

Joxer: Gabrielle ... I found some flowers for you. They're your favorite... daisies.

Gabrielle takes them and offers a small smile. That was sweet, she thought.
Joxer smiles shyly and ducks his head. Maybe Dite's advice will work! he thought.

Xena: Okay are we ready? Let's go!

Gabrielle kisses Joxer on his cheek quickly and then walks ahead to join Xena.

The four friends continued to Parnassis.

Gabrielle slowly falls behind to Joxer as Xena and Autolycus talk of the game plan. Looking at the road ahead she whispers to Joxer.

Joxer looks shyly at Gabrielle and smiled quickly.

Gabrielle smiles at him softly.

Gabrielle: What are they for?
Joxer: Oh! Um...well... I just saw them and thought you might like them. She likes them! Aphrodite was right! And there was no spells or anything!
Joxer: Was... um... was I right?
How sweet.... and I was so mean to him earlier! Gabrielle thought.
Gabrielle: Yes...yes Joxer. They're great thank you.
She is so beautiful when she smiles! She LIKES them! Joxer thought and sighed.

Aphrodite giggles... though no one can see her.

Joxer: I'm um... glad you like them.

Gabrielle puts her arm around him as they walk quietly.

Joxer's knees feel weak and he struggles to walk.

Autolycus: So how are you going to stop this Xena?

Xena: I do know that Ares is up to something and I think that it involves me.
Autolycus: Oh... yeah.

Autolycus clears his throat.

Autolycus trips Gabrielle. Gabrielle falls on the ground.

Gabrielle glares at Auto as Joxer runs to her and helps her up.

Autolycus steps back from Joxer.

Gabrielle: Just leave it alone.

Joxer looks at Gabrielle.

Xena: Is everybody all right now?
Gabrielle: I am.
Joxer: Yeah fine
That Autolycus had better watch his step! If he so much as looks at her again! Joxer thought.
Xena: Okay ... we're almost at Parnassis now.
Why does he always stand up for me? Gabrielle thought.
Wonder why she stopped me? Joxer thought.
Maybe.... no. Gabrielle thought.
Didn't she see that I was only standing up for her? Joxer thought.

Gabrielle dismissed her thoughts and walks on ahead.

Can't she see that I love her? Joxer thought.

Xena: All right... Joxer and Gabby...You two had better get some rooms for the night.
Gabrielle: Ok.

Xena tosses a pouch at Gabrielle.

Xena: Take this. You might need it. We'll meet you in the tavern.

Gabrielle caught the pouch and motioned for Joxer to join her.

Gabrielle: See you a little later then.
Xena: Come on Auto... We've got to see the king. Bye.
Gabrielle: Have fun...bye.

Xena gives Gabrielle a strange look and then leaves with Autolycus.

At the inn Gabrielle and Joxer encounter a problem.

Gabrielle: Only 2 rooms are left! Great! Well I guess you and Auto can share one and me and Xena can share the other one.
Joxer: Yeah... I guess... Auto and me will share a room and you and Xena share a room.
Well, what did I expect? Joxer thought.
Gabrielle: Well can you think of something better?
Joxer: Um.... well.......
That didn't sound right. Gabrielle thought.

Autolycus edged closer and Xena breathed heavier. She could feel his breath on her face.

Autolycus forgets his words as her eyes seem to pull him in...

Oh god I think I'm gonna faint! I've never felt this way about a man before... not this strongly! Xena thought.

Autolycus melts and slowly, gently kisses her.

Xena grabs his head and kisses him deep and passionately before he could resist. Autolycus touched his hand tenderly to her face and lets himself go to the passion of her kiss. Xena wraps her arms around him and kisses him deeply... her tongue probing his mouth.

Joxer: Hey isn't that Xena and Autolycus? (Calls) Hiya Xena!
DAMN HIM!!! Xena thought.

Autolycus breaks the kiss and whispers to her.

Autolycus: I'm sorry I......
Xena: (Whispers) It's okay.
Autolycus: Really?

Xena wipes her face and turns to meet Gabrielle and Joxer.

Autolycus got up and walked a short distance away.

Xena: Hi Joxer... Gabrielle. What are you doing here?
Gabrielle: Xena what did you find out?
Xena: The king said that he will talk to us further tomorrow.
Gabrielle: Oh, we were going to let you know that there was only two rooms at the inn.
Xena: Two? So I guess that you and me will share a room and the guys will have the other.
Gabrielle: But Joxer and I thought you two might want to share one. (Chuckles)
Xena: You and ....Joxer will share a room? Are you sure?
What is going on? Xena thought.
Gabrielle: Yeah, it's ok...he'll sleep on the floor.

Gabrielle: Plus if we make the guys share a room they might kill each other.
